Walk & Give to End Local Hunger
Feeding America, our nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, estimates that in our country, “More that 54.3 million people, including 18 million children, may experience food insecurity in 2020.”
Every year since 2005, Saint Spyridon parishioners have participated in the Loveland CROP Walk to help end world hunger. But this year, the event is not taking place.
To keep the tradition of our parish walking and donating to help the hungry, we are putting our focus and energy to help those with food insecurity in our area. Philoptochos’ September service project is “Walk & Give to End Local Hunger.” Contributions will support the House of Neighborly Service, the Loveland Community Kitchen, and the Food Banks of Larimer and Weld Counties.
Here’s what to do:
- Walk on your own in your neighborhood, or even inside your house, as often and as long as you wish.
