Family Promise hosting week coming up January 17th-24th
Family Promise is a national non-profit that serves homeless families with children. Our local chapter operates in collaboration with the House of Neighborly Service, and offers night shelter through a network of local host churches (in addition to offering a day shelter and case management support). St Spyridon is one of these host churches. During our 2021 hosting week of January 17th-24th we will provide dinner and shelter from 5 pm until 7 am for 1-4 families at St Spyridon in our education facility.
A 2 hour long training for potential volunteers will be offered December 5th from 3-5 pm at church, and will include conducting background checks. Trained volunteers may sign up to cover evening shifts (spending time with families from 5 pm-9 pm) and night shifts (providing assistance as needed overnight from 9 pm until 7 am). Anyone can help by signing up to help with bringing meals and set-up/clean-up. Watch for sign ups for the training and other opportunities to help.
