Adopt A Family 2022

As we enter into the holiday season, we are excited to begin our yearly Adopt A Family giving opportunity with Philoptochos! As we partner with Rocky Mountain High School, we have been assigned 3 families. We get to help make their holiday season a lot brighter!

Please sign up below if you are interested in being a part of this program. You can sign up to bring gifts, household supplies, and food, or even help us wrap and prep the items to take over to RMHS.

Books, coloring books, and crayons have already been purchased for every child. This is an amazing project, and we need everyone’s help to make it happen.

When are items due?

If you choose to sign up to bring one or more items, please bring them to the church NO LATER than Sunday, December 4.

You can sign up for one or more slots.

Donations

In addition, donations to the families can be made in the Poor Box or online, simply indicate “Adopt-A-Family program” on the envelope containing your donation. Please make checks payable to St. Spyridon Philoptochos and put “Adopt-A-Family” in the memo line - these can be mailed or left in the Poor Box at Church.

To donate online, go to the Philoptochos Giving Page (on Paypal). On the drop-down menu, select the option for Adopt-A-Family and complete your donation.

How to package the items
Labels
On the outside of a wrapped gift, designate the assigned family number and which family member the gift is for on a label. At the bottom of the label write specifically what is in the package. This portion will be removed before they are delivered to the school for families.
Labels can be picked up by the tree in the Narthex or you can create your own.

Gifts
Christmas gifts for individual family members should be brought to the church in Christmas wrappings with a clear label on each package (see the label information above).

Household and Food Items
Please bring any household items or food in a new fabric reusable grocery bag the family can use in the future.

Gift Cards
Gift cards may be wrapped or in a card, but attach a label or sticky note with the store of the gift card, the dollar amount, the family number, and if it's for a specific family member. Place gift cards in the Poor Box, in the card basket by the tree, or give them directly to Lauren Gonikishvili.

Where to drop off purchased items
Please place wrapped gifts and bagged family items by the Christmas tree in the narthex or in the trunk in the breezeway.

For more information please contact Lauren Gonikishvili .

Thank you so much for your support of our Adopt-A-Family project!

Our St. Spyridon Philoptochos Chapter is part of the National Philoptochos Society, which is made up of more than 400 chapters and 26,000 members across the U.S. Celebrating 85 years, Philoptochos is the largest Christian women's philanthropic organization in the nation. Philoptochos, which means "friends of the poor" in Greek, is a philanthropic arm of the church, providing aid to the poor, the hungry and those in need in our parish, community, country and across the globe. We use our time to connect with those in need, our treasure to help send funds to various causes, and our talents to form relationships, continually seeking new avenues to fulfill Christ's call to help those in need.
