Our St. Spyridon Philoptochos Chapter is part of the National Philoptochos Society, which is made up of more than 400 chapters and 26,000 members across the U.S. Celebrating 85 years, Philoptochos is the largest Christian women's philanthropic organization in the nation.
Philoptochos, which means "friends of the poor" in Greek, is a philanthropic arm of the church, providing aid to the poor, the hungry and those in need in our parish, community, country and across the globe. We use our time to connect with those in need, our treasure to help send funds to various causes, and our talents to form relationships, continually seeking new avenues to fulfill Christ's call to help those in need.
In the past 10 years Philoptochos has donated time, talent, and more than $104,000 in treasure to various causes including:
St. Basil Academy
IOCC
St. Nektarios Education Fund
Philippines Typhoon Relief
Aid to Ecuador
St. Nicholas Shrine at the WTC
Hurricane Sandy
Colorado Flood Relief
House of Neighborly Service
CROP Walk to End Hunger

Christmas Adopt-a-Family
Various local food banks
Life Choices Pregnancy Center of Loveland
Aid to Greece and Cyprus
