Panaghia’s Pantry Update
We are most grateful for everyone’s support and that of the many wonderful Panaghia’s Pantry faithful donors from our parish, across the country, and from other countries! Because of these donations Vasili and Yota have been able to continue to deliver food kits to 85 families in rural Ecuador each week since the last week of May. In December, Santa (Vasili) and his elves also delivered gifts to every one of the 60 children in one of the more remote villages. There was no need for toys, they were all so happy with presents of clothes and some candy. There were many smiles and hugs from both children and parents. The gifts, as well as the food bags, really made this a special Christmas for all these children and their families!
2021 began with an urgent need for 20 food kits which were quickly provided by Yota & Vasili even before the first weekly delivery was scheduled. The need remains great and through our combined efforts and the generosity of many the work will continue. This ministry is truly making a difference in the lives of these people in the remote villages of rural Ecuador.
Nancy and her husband Kosta are active members of St. Spyridon Orthodox Church. Nancy enjoys being involved with the Ladies Philoptochos chapter and serving as a co-leader of Panaghia’s Pantry ministry and the Senior Support Angels ministry.
