Saying Goodbye to 2022
As we look forward to 2023 we look back on 2022 knowing that with your generous gifts and giving hearts Panaghia's Pantry, Panaghia's Housing, and Panaghia's Outreach have all touched so many lives in so many ways.
As of December 31, 2022 because of all of you, Panaghia's Pantry team in Ecuador was able to distribute 10,260 food kits which equals 85,500 lbs., or 42.75 tons of food!
Panghia's Housing began in January 2022. Two projects have been completed and one is in progress:
A house was built for a family last January.
A roof and cement floor on another families home was completed in December.
And now there is a project in progress, assisting a family with materials they need to complete a house that they have been slowly working on for the last year and a half. Recently the bamboo structure they were living in collapsed. They have moved into one room that is not completed in the new structure and are slowly working on construction themselves with us staying in contact and making visits to watch their progress.
Panaghia's Outreach is a new extension of Panaghia's Pantry that began in September:
A 17 year old young man here in our town needed to have surgery for a life threatening non-cancerous tumor. The family really needed help to make this surgery happen or their son would not survive. Again, donors stepped up and helped. The family is beyond grateful and his future looks bright!
Christmas 2022 brought much joy to 217 children, with gifts of clothes, toys and candy. We also distributed 175 food kits to each family in the village.
