Saint Spyridon Children Have a Special Icon Stand

Have you noticed that there is a new icon stand in the narthex at Saint Spyridon? It's a special one designed and sized for our children to venerate icons, without needing any help to reach it!

We are happy to provide this children's icon stand for the multitude of young children to use at our parish. And we are grateful to the donors who made this possible.

The stand was made in honor of Bessie Capsalis, a founding member of our parish and a beloved Philoptochos sister.

Our St. Spyridon Philoptochos Chapter is part of the National Philoptochos Society, which is made up of more than 400 chapters and 26,000 members across the U.S. Celebrating 85 years, Philoptochos is the largest Christian women's philanthropic organization in the nation. Philoptochos, which means "friends of the poor" in Greek, is a philanthropic arm of the church, providing aid to the poor, the hungry and those in need in our parish, community, country and across the globe. We use our time to connect with those in need, our treasure to help send funds to various causes, and our talents to form relationships, continually seeking new avenues to fulfill Christ's call to help those in need.
